Bio
Based in Malta, Juanita Vassallo received a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from the Institute of the Creative Arts (Malta) in 2017. Focusing on photography, textiles and mixed media, her work can be characterised as experimental and unfinished. Her early work cover darker and more morbid topics. Currently not a practicing artist she works towards engaging others within the world of creativity and self expression.
Her latest work consists of a portfolio focusing on historical fashion reproductions and research within the context of countries influential to the Malta and the Island itself.
After graduating with a Masters of Art in Museum Studies from the University of Leicester Vassallo has been focusing on museum and cultural outreach. Her point of interests come together through playful and engaging ways to interact with cultural, creative and historical topics and the way we interact with these topics within the contemporary context. She actualises these principals through her freelance work with VOs, NGOs and other cultural establishments.
